What file formats are supported?
Images (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, WebP, GIF, BMP, ICO, ICNS), RAW (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, RAF, ORF, RW2, PEF, SRW, X3F), videos (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, WMV, FLV, M4V), audio (MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, AAC, OGG, M4A, WMA, Opus), design (PSD, PSB, AI, EPS, SVG, INDD, Sketch), documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, RTF, TXT, MD, CSV), 3D (USDZ, OBJ, FBX, GLB, glTF, DAE, STL, 3DS, Blend). You can also add custom extensions in preferences.
How does the color palette work?
Open a full-screen preview (Space). The palette bar appears at the bottom with the 8 dominant colors extracted automatically. Click a swatch to see details (HEX, CMYK, RAL). You can copy each value with one click, or export the full palette as an Adobe .ase file. Use the eyedropper (+) to manually pick a color from anywhere on your screen.
Are my files sent to the internet?
No. Scrapbook Pixixel works entirely locally. No data is sent to any server. The only network connection is for purchase verification through Apple StoreKit.
How do I restore my purchase on another Mac?
Use "Restore Purchases" in the preferences. Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID and can be restored on all your Macs.
How do I export and import a library?
Use ⌘S to save, ⌘E to export, ⌘I to import. The .sbpixixel format contains all your folder references. You can also drag a .sbpixixel file into the app.
Are EXIF/IPTC metadata modified?
No. Scrapbook Pixixel reads metadata in read-only mode. Your original files are never modified.
What macOS version is required?
macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later.
